Emotional Temperance and Sensorial Tolerance
Slow, attentive movement does appear to help with 'emotional regulation,' speaking as a crude empiricist. But 'regulation' feels very 20th century/hierarchical, as though the consciousness could order the rest of us to calm down. Science tells us that consciousness is too late to the party, our systems are not top-down, and the nervous system is only one part of the organismic integration that gives us emotional temperance. So, yes, anecdotally, the Feldenkrais wisdom about moving does seem to seep into emotional wisdom. But that isn't just because of the way it teaches the nervous system. Cardio and Endocrine seem like such obvious players, and even the immune system could be involved, could be tempered through the method.
